'Mid Life Turning Point Workshop'
This workshop delivered more than I expected. I enjoyed it all. It was a relief to discover that what I was thinking and feeling was normal. The materials we were given were comprehensive and pertinent and I will appreciate having them as a reference after the workshop is over. I am leaving with a sense of empowerment and some tools to support me to manage coping with the time ahead. Oct 2014

'Sandplay & Symbol Therapy Workshop'
The demonstrations and input were well planned, practical and informative. We received a wealth of knowledge which was gradually imparted so that we weren't overwhelmed. The manual will be very useful to refer back to. The case studies gave me deep insight into trusting the process. My confidence in facilitating another increased after doing my own processes with the symbols and sandplay. This workshop is well worth attending. July 2014

Counselling: Adult
I lost my wife, kids & house when my marriage broke down. It looked like I might lose my job too. Couldn't concentrate; was arriving late; and not good to be around.
I was told I couldn't see the kids unless I got help. Saw my doctor and a psych the doctor recommended. Just didn't seem to be getting anywhere. Didn't think it would be any different with Melissa - just more money down the drain.
It did help; I didn't shoot myself or drive off a cliff which a part of me was thinking I oughter do. In time I found some parts of me that were keeping an eye on things & they came up with a few ideas that helped.
I'm managing better & kept my job. Learning about that Aspergers stuff was a big help. I understand me better & it has helped my wife understand why I am like I am. She still doesn't want me back. It'd be good for my son to get checked out about this Aspergers. Then maybe he can get help too instead of everything being a battle like it was for me and my dad.
My mates & I play footy & I'm back helping coach my kid's footy team. He really likes having me there. I'm looking after myself better, joined AA & am not eating s..... food all the time. Sleeping better too, & don't seem to be as angry any more. Am able to see the kids regularly which is good. I'm going okay now. June 2015

'Supervision on Professional Practice'
Regular supervision sessions have supported me to maintain a level of professionalism and discernment in my work essential to maintaining best practice.
Collaboratively drawing up a supervision contract with my supervisor was a valuable discernment process which established a sound foundation upon which our future sessions were informed and supported.
Supervision helps me gain awareness of how my own beliefs, values and ethics and can and do intrude into a counselling relationship. This has informed areas of Transference, Counter-Transference and parallel process which have muddied the waters on occasions.
Myself personally, my work, my clients and my colleagues all benefit from my doing supervision. August 2015

Counselling: Child
Lifeline recommended we bring our child to see Melissa. He was having behaviour issues at school and adjusting to the move we had to make from the bush to town after my husband hurt himself badly. The work our child did in his sessions with Melissa helped us all. Things are better now. He is much happier and so are we. I'm glad he came.
